Kenyan blogs worth millions of shillings

Dane Carlson created a little applet which computes and displays your blog's worth. Just type in the URL for your blog, and it will return its overall value. Of course, the accuracy of the approach is debatable, as the value of a blog can be subjective and case specific, but it is still worth checking out. I just ran the applet for 10 of my favourite Kenyan blog sites. Here are the results:

• Bankelele: US$15,242.58 
• Girl in the Meadow: US$9,032.64 
• Kenyan Pundit: US$162,022.98 (Congrats Ory, please don't sell your blog!)
• Mountainous: US$9,597.18 
• Rafiki Kenya: US$12,419.88
  
• Sukuma Kenya: US$17,500.74 
• Sultry Nutter: US$3,387.24 
• The Diary of a Kenyan Campus Girl: US$8,468.10 
• tHiNkEr’S rOoM: US$23,710.68 
• Wanjiku Unlimited: US$9,032.64
  
These ten blogs give us a total of US$270,414.66. That's almost 22 million shillings! What could we bloggers do with 22 million shillings? Buy two and a half Hummers? Buy 2,700 US$100-laptops for schools? Pay 2 MP's for a year? Give 10,000 school children a school lunch for a year?
