The pretty Anne Kiguta joined KTN as a news anchor last month, after her escapades at Hope FM and Capital FM. Well, I don't know why the girl used to be on radio, since she has not disappointed us on television so far. While other channels are broadcasting the World Cup, KTN is trying to keep its prime time viewers glued to their screens by having Anne Kiguta reading the news and being sexy. I have have actually forgotten to switch to the World Cup channels at 9.30 PM a couple of times now... Blame it on Anne Kiguta!

Anne Kiguta is also usually trending on Twitter in Kenya around 9 PM. Some of the comments are quite hilarious:
@kattiepearl: She would just be the perfect weather girl, forecasting all the hot and wet places.

But Anne Kiguta's biggest fan on Twitter seems to be our superb Miss Twitter Kenya contestant @nbad_kitty. Could Anne Kiguta actually be bi-sexual? Let's hope so.

Now, have a look at the picture. Yes, I know her outfit is ugly and she should do something about her hair. But it's fine, she has changed a lot since this picture was taken in May 2010. Yes, and on the positive side, I know she has big eyes which make her very attractive. And yes, I do know her legs are slim and sexy. And yes indeed, her smile can make you melt away... But please, have a look at one detail in the picture now. Did you notice the small mirror in front of her? So, that actually means she wants to look good, and she is doing it all for us! I never noticed such a mirror in front of Esther Arunga. Even Michael Oyier doesn't seem to have one of those.

I had never seen Esther Arunga this furious before. She's really hitting at the media. Did she learn a lesson from Lucy Kibaki on that front? Anyway, Esther still looks sweet and smart, so we wish her all the best in her new endeavors. The Finger of God wouldn't be that bad as a President of Kenya maybe, and I wouldn't mind Esther as a Vice President either.

Esther Arunga calls off her wedding, wants to blow the sax instead

Esther Arunga leaves her family ‘to join church’

Esther Arunga, one of Kenya’s hottest television presenters is reported to have been estranged from her family and friends and is now living in a church in Runda.

The youthful presenter’s friends and a relative on Tuesday said they were afraid she could have gotten herself too deep into a church whose activities they say are suspicious.

The church - oddly called Finger of God - is said to be run by Joseph Hellon, a man described in entertainment circles as a multi-talented jazz maestro and music teacher.

The week-long separation from her friends and relatives has left them worried amid reports that she may have quit her job.

Wedding put on hold

Esther's wedding has also been put on hold.

Efforts to contact Joseph Hellon on Tuesday were unsuccessful as he was said to be unavailable at his Runda residence while calls to his mobile phone and the church’s landline went unanswered.

The Nation however managed to reach Esther Arunga on her mobile phone but she said she was fine.

According to some former members of the church, about eight more women live in the compound leased to the musician.

Esther, Janet or Lilian?

How do you rate KTN's female news anchors? Who is the most professional? Difficult? OK, let's make the question a bit easier then: who is the hottest? Esther Arunga, Janet Mbugua, or Lilian Muli? Let's do a little poll.



My favourite is the gorgeous Janet Mbugua of course. Why? Well, listen to her deep voice and low intonation. How sexy is that? Then look at her full lips. How soft is that? She doesn't smile too often. How cool is that?

The only thing that worries me a bit about Janet is the period she spent in Malaysia. "I was modelling in clubs", she said in a recent interview in the Standard. But what does that really mean in practice? I should have been there in Malaysia at that time to confirm, so it is too late to worry too much about it right now...

And what about the competition?

OK, Esther Arunga is eloquent. But what else?

And yes, Lilian Muli is assertive. But what else really?

KTN has found and unveils the people behind Track-It, a company which has been giving many people a false sense of security through a scam. Here is the first in a three-part Inside Story, 'The Rogue Tracker', with KTN's John-Allan Namu, which was aired yesterday.
