Kiriro by Daddy Owen Ft Kerah & Allan Aaron

I am not a big fan of Kenyan popular music. My music players are usually full of African music, mainly West and Central African, but not Kenyan.

But once in a while, there is a Kenyan song that touches me. Like this one called Kiriro, by Daddy Owen Ft Kerah & Allan Aaron. These guys have talent and it's an inspiring gospel song that makes me feel very good and happy - every single time I listen to it.



You see, these guys are really blessed, so let's praise the Lord!

YouTube: What The World Watched and Searched for on YouTube in 2009

2009 has been the biggest yet for online video, and thanks to our better Internet connections in Kenya, we are now also able to feel part of this. For the first time YouTube is sharing its official Most Watched lists. For these lists, YouTube looked at view counts of YouTube's most popular videos this year. There is no specific list for Kenya yet (something I hope YouTube will take on in 2010), but here is the global list:

Most Watched YouTube videos (Global):
1. Susan Boyle - Britain's Got Talent (120+ million views)
2. David After Dentist (37+ million views)
3. JK Wedding Entrance Dance (33+ million views)
4. New Moon Movie Trailer (31+ million views)
5. Evian Roller Babies (27+ million views)

Well, I am not a big fan of Susan Boyle (no. 1), but I love water and babies, so the Evian Roller Babies (no. 5) is my favorite one on this list.

'Snow' in Kenya

I just found a nice video by Citizen TV on last Tuesday's hailstorm in Gathanji near Nyahururu, which caused locals to travel far and beyond to see it and to throw snowballs at each other. One guy even put some of the 'snow' his bike to take home with him.

"We thought a big white sheet had been spread, so we decided to come and see for ourselves. We thought that it was Jesus who had come back," one villager told reporters.

"In fact this thing is very sweet, we have never seen anything like this. We like the ice so much because with the sun being hot, you take it and you feel satisfied," resident Simon Kimani said.



By the way, Citizen TV's YouTube Channel was launched last month and is now trying to catch up with NTV's YouTube Channel (still a long way to go though: 80 video's currently for Citizen and more than 1,000 video's for NTV).
